What Happened to your Gallery?

We made the difficult decision to close our gallery in the fall of 2024. As much as we loved having a brick-and-mortar space, balancing the demands of running a store while creating all of our artwork became increasingly challenging. Ultimately, we realized that stepping away from the physical shop would allow us to focus more on our art and creativity.

While we wish we could have provided more advance notice, the timing aligned for us to move out at the end of October.

We are incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received over the years and for the opportunity to have been part of the Suttons Bay community. This isn’t goodbye—just the start of a new chapter! We hope you’ll continue to follow our journey and stay connected with us online.

Can I order a custom fish?

We are not always able to take custom orders but we do try our best to get you the fish you need. Send us an email and we can talk about the details.

Return & Exchange Policy

Due to the nature of our original artwork, we are unable to accept returns on any custom pieces created by Kirstie or Shelly. However, if an item arrives damaged or broken during shipment, please reach out to us right away—we are committed to making it right.

How long until my order ships?

We try to ship orders out as quickly as possible. Most orders ship within 5-7 business days. We ship using USPS and UPS and will send you a tracking number once your package ships. Packages usually arrive to their destination within 2-8 days after shipping. If you prefer a specific carrier for shipment please contact us within 24 hours of placing your order.

Do you ship internationally?

We do! But please contact us for international shipping pricing before placing your order. :)

Do you sell wholesale?

We currently do not sell our creations for wholesale but we’re working on it! Please send us and email and let us know what products you are interested in ordering.

Can I hang my fish outside?

We don’t recommend hanging the fish outdoors but here are a few tips if you choose to do so.

  • Hanging your fish under a covered porch will help protect it from the elements and make it last longer.

  • Before hanging your fish outside, spray it with a high quality UV resistant clear coat. We recommend this one.

  • Once a year, take your fish down and clean it with a damp cloth. Re-apply the clear coat spray at least once a year.

  • Bring your fish inside during the winter months.

Shelly’s fish are all one-of-a-kind creations. Each fish is carved from wood, sanded, primed and painted. While these creations are very durable, sun, rain and snow can damage your fish over time. We’ve had many customers successfully keep their fish outdoors for years but we cannot guarantee how long your fish will hold up if it is left out in the elements.
